I was born and raised in Valleyview, Alberta where I lived with my husband and two children until the year 2012 when we moved to Sedgewick, Alberta. In the fall of 2013 a friend encouraged me to join the Battle River Art Club which is located there. With my background in photography I quickly picked up on painting in acrylics. While I have attended the odd workshop in watercolours and admire the outcome of that particular medium, I still prefer to work in acrylics. I have no formal training other than attending workshops and making good use of the internet to educate myself. In the fall of 2014 we moved to Stettler, Alberta and when my youngest child began kindergarten I was able to join the local art group. I believe that being able to make art a daily part of life and trying out new techniques, even if I fail at them, is how I have been able to develop a style and technique of my own so quickly.
